2021 Geek-A-Long Sweater: Clue 14

Welcome to week 14 Geek-A-Long Adventurers! The summer is dwindling and so are the remaining rows of the body of the On Board Sweater. In 3 weeks (clue 17) we’ll be joining the sleeves to the body and starting the yoke. That’s the most challenging part of the sweater, and if you didn’t invest in a pair of really long needles at the start of this, consider ordering some now to be ready for the sleeve join. The yoke starts decreasing fairly soon after joining the sleeves, but the first 15 rows or so are A LOT of stitches. So make sure you have a needle plan in place.

This week we add the little Game of Life logo to the life board, and fill in more of the Scrabble tiles. for the scrabble tiles I’ve continued working them in duplicate so that they read correctly on both sides. For the life tile, I worked the space in “plain” double knitting, with MC (white) facing on the front and CC (black) facing on the back. Then I used duplicate stitch to fill in the background, leaving the sts for the letters showing through.

Before I go this week, I want to note some errata that was caught by one of your fellow adventurers: In the instructions for the sleeves, the stitch count given for sizes 9-15 was incorrect. This shouldn’t impact the number of sts you actually have, the charts were correct, but at the end of the sleeve just before transferring those sts to a holder the stitch count should read: 72(76, 80, 84, 88) 92(96, 100, 102, 106) 110(114, 118, 122, 126) sts. The clues 1-12 downloads available at the bottom of this post and on Ravelry have been updated to reflect this.
