Cult of the Lamb: Slipper 1 – The Kind Cultist

Hello my wonderful woolen acolytes! The moment is ripe, the night is dark, the power is great, and the slipper is cozy.

If you missed it last week, you can find the Cult of the Lamb project sheet HERE. We are sold out of kits, but you can use any worsted weight yarn in a white/cream, red, and black or dark gray for this project. You’ll also want size 6/0 seed beads in black and red, and 2 jingle bells. You don’t need them, they are technically optional, but trust me, you want them.

The jingle bells are incredible and delightful and annoying all at once. Are you the type of person that is super bothered by the sound of people chewing? Now imagine being bothered at the sound of your own chewing. That’s how these bells make me feel. Every step jingles and jangles and sounds both irritating and charmingly soothing at the same time. I wouldn’t trade that for anything. Use the bells.

Take your time working the cuff on these slippers. The short rows can feel like they are taking a long time, but the intarsia-without-doing-intarsia effect is worth it! After the cuff the top of the foot is worked flat, then you will pick up stitches around the edges of the flat rows, work across the back of the cuff and rejoin to work in the round. I like to use a 9″ knitting needle with point protectors as my stitch holder rather than waste yarn for this. That way when it’s time to get back to those cuff stitches you can just knit them right off of the smaller needles and onto your main needles.

You will have to come here and download the next clue every time. Please download it via Ravelry if you are able, so you have immediate access to the clues as they are released and any errata that may appear.
