2022 Geek-A-Long: Clue 8 – Pokémon Yellow

Welcome to week 8 of the Gotta Catch ‘Em All socks: Pokémon Yellow!

Normally this is the part of an MKAL where I tell you we’ve reached the thrilling conclusion of our socks. But not today! I’ve got one more surprise week of Pokémon coming your way next Sunday. So if, like me, you were thinking that you’re a little sad to see them go, you can defer that feeling like it’s a student loan. Next week we’ll have a bonus 9th clue in our Pokémon saga with some special enhancements for the socks we’ve already made. Because we can’t do a Pokémon starter set without evolving them at least once. We’re not monsters.

This week, we are all about that Pikachu action! Clue 8 brings us our final starter, and though Pikachu is never my first choice in the game, he is undeniably cute and iconic.

Can you believe it’s already September?! The last few months flew by and I have no idea where the time went. Mabel the Merciless started first grade this week, and I’m having all kinds of feels. It seems like it was 5 minutes ago that she was starting Kindergarten.

This year has been a lot for us, and I know it has been for a lot of you too. So after we wrap up the Poképarty we are going to change up the GAL release schedule a bit and incorporate a little more chill into our lives. We’re not done for 2022, there is one more pair coming your way, but we’re going to relax the schedule a bit and are planning the most calming of Geek-A-Longs for 2023. More details on all of that in the next couple of weeks.
