Test Knit-Trigonometry Scarf and Fire Claws Mitts

Hiya, knitters! I’m here to drop in a quick announcement. We have a test call for 2 knits that went up today: The Trigonometry Scarf, and Fire Claws Mitts.

Testers can sign up to test one or both patterns. I’m running the tests together because you’ll have enough left over from one project to make the other. The scarf is an incredibly easy and meditative knit. It’s garter rows throughout because who needs purls? Not this girl. #pearlsoverpurls Let’s make that a thing, shall we?

The scarf is the first of my finished Christmas knits this year, and I plan to release the pattern mid-October. It knits up super fast, and it’s a great way to jump start your gift knitting. I designed a new color for it, Mutant Sangria, which was listed in the shop today.

One of my favorite things about this color is that when you knit it by itself, it’s super bold. The pinks and reds just pop like you wouldn’t believe. But, when you combine it with another color, it tones down into a much more subdued palate. Basically, it can do whatever you need it to.

Ok, so I’m basically dying to tell you all about the mitts, but I can’t 100% spoil the details yet. What I can say is that this pattern won’t be available on Ravelry for a year or so, because the pattern is being published in an X-Men Themed Cook Book. Yeah. You read that right. An X-Men Themed Cook Book that also has a knitting pattern, as well as other artist contributions. I’ll be doing a full post on that in a few weeks, so stay tuned. My project was inspired by Wolverine’s iconic claws, and pays homage to the new bad-ass fire claws that recently debuted.

Those who sign up for the test will receive a special 25% off coupon to purchase the materials needed from the Lattes & Llamas shop, and testers who complete the test will have the published version added to their Ravelry library plus a coupon for a pattern of their choice from the Lattes & Llamas pattern store. Join the test by replying in the L&L Ravelry forum before this Friday. More photos and details about the test knit will be there.

Not for nothing, but if I had fire claws, I’d use them to straighten my hair.
