HP LoveVest

HP LoveVest prototype

Let’s face it, it’s tough to be a woman bent on world domination and the consumption of all joy these days.  Between screening new minion candidates, hitting your zumba class, and destroying all the major metropolitan cities in the tri-continental area it’s easy to sacrifice fashion for comfort.

Well, not on MY watch.

I am thrilled to debut the first pattern in the Kniterary line: the HP LoveVest.  Inspired by the Great Dread Lord Cthulu, this vest perfectly marries the fun quirky geek we know you are with modern styling and fashion.  The HP LoveVest is the perfect top for work, relaxed weekends, and commanding your minions. Whether you are consuming the world’s joy or attending a business meeting, it can be dressed up or down to suite your style.

I will be publishing the pattern in the Lattes and Llamas Ravelry Store and Etsy Shop at the end of July.  But if you’d like it now, AND for free, I am looking for testers here.

I made the sample in Mountain Meadow Wool’s Jackson, in the colorway Fern.   I hadn’t used MMW yarn before this project and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I love their commitment to sustainability.

Mountain Meadow Wool Company is committed to being a green company with a respect for the environment we live in and for the ranchers we represent.  All of our wool is traceable back to the ranch where it is grown….

WE SHOULD ALL WORK, PLAY AND LIVE IN WOOL

Check out MMW’s bio, it’s a good read!

The yarn was spectacular.  It was a treat from the moment I wound it, right down to blocking!

The Jackson wool has an amazing hand, and even though the color had a lot of variegation the cables came out with intense definition.  I can honestly say that I would use this yarn again in a heartbeat.  I wasn’t even halfway through HP LoveVest before I began imagining other designs for the yarn.  And seriously guys, the colors they have available will blow your mind. The Sunflower makes me feel all tingly inside.

On a final note, I also tried out a new wool wash on this project.  This Eucalan Fabric Wash was delightful.  My vest smells better than a baby’s head.
