Font of Magic

Back in September, Mabel the Merciless requested a new hat. Being the doting aunt that I am, I hopped to work. It turned out wonderfully! I even knitted one for myself… And then I never shared it with you guys.

What can I say? It’s been a crazy few months. I wrote a novel. Mabel turned seven. SEVEN! A pattern of mine was chosen to be featured in Issue 17 of Laine this summer. Some other awesome stuff happened, which I can’t discuss yet. Some not so awesome stuff happened. Most importantly, however, we’re getting things back on track. So, here it is! The Font of Magic Hat.

Just like a wizard’s spell, a hat starts with smallest and most humble act: the intention to knit. Each knit and purl of the yarn is a spell of its own, building upon the last until the final product is a beautiful creation bursting with your energy. This hat will be a symbol of your strength. You need only to wear it and remember what resides within you. So take up your needles and let your strength flow into the yarn, for you are the master of this creation, a true fibermancer with a Font of Magic.
