Pattern Release: Ban Bigots Not Books Hat

“Books and all forms of writing have always been objects of terror to those who seek to suppress truth.”― Wole Soyinka

Between January 1st and August 31st of 2022, the American Library Association documented nearly 700 instances of formal attempts to restrict library resources, which included targeting over 1600 unique titles. This is the highest documented rate in the 20 years that the ALA has tracked this data. Books featuring Black, Brown, Indigenous, and/or LGBTQ+ stories have been disproportionately targeted.

Fuck that. Ban Bigots, Not Books.

The Ban Bigots Not Books Hat is the second pattern in the Let It Burn Collection by Lattes & Llamas. You can find the Read Banned Books Cowl on Ravelry HERE and on the blog HERE.
