2022 Geek-A-Long: Pokémon Clue 3

Welcome to week 3 of the Gotta Catch ‘Em All socks: Pokémon Red!

Red Pokéballs are one of the most recognized images in videogame culture, and Red is what most players think of as the first game. And with the new Scarlet and Violet coming soon, I’m feeling very nostalgic for red right now.

Even if you aren’t that big of a Pokémon enthusiasts and are knitting these as a gift, I want you to just take a moment to bask in the literal glow of this shimmery shiny Pikachu. He’s so cute it is actually going to do damage to look away from him. He has crystal gem balloons. He can fly with his bejeweled balloons!!!

Let’s get ready to catch that glorious little fractal pikachu this week with the leg of Pokemon Red! I’ll be back here the same time next week with the foot and our fire starter: Charmander. I’ve also got a full pattern download available for Pokémon Blue now that we’ve completed that sock.
