December Shop Update

Merry This-Year-Is-Almost-Over and a Happy Please-Gods-Have-Mercy to you all! It took a while for the mill to get more yarn to us. The supply chain has been a hot mess for a while, but today I’m here with good news. We have a whole bunch of colorways back in stock and some new stuff to share with you. First and foremost:

GEEK-A-LONG YARN IS 100% BACK IN STOCK!

It took ONE MILLION YEARS to get a sweater quantity’s worth of each colorway dyed, but we did it! By all that is good and holy, I hope we never go that long without getting a shipment of yarn from the mill. (We call them nudies, since they don’t have any dye on them.) When we were making the list of what needed to be replenished, it was easier to list what we did have in stock. Yikes. But, as of writing this at eight o’clock in the morning, every colorway of Geek-A-Long Yarn is back in stock. Hooray!

Our next order of business is to start replenishing Interlude’s inventory and updating the listing with new photos. We have a few of the most popular colorways back in stock this morning, including the ones you’ll need to knit The Pact (pictured above), Moonlit Magic, or Harvest Melody. We are still waiting on the second half of our shipment of the Interlude base to arrive, so we probably won’t be able to get every color back in stock until January or February.

BEEFCAKE IS BACK IN STOCK!

And with five new colors.

From left to right, we have “Circle of Spores”, “Soul of Artifice”, “Oath of the Watchers”, “Gritty”, and “Fey Wanderer”.

Also, before someone calls me out, yes. I did take most of these names from the new D&D sourcebook, Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. I’m not saying that I’ve considered letting my character die in a blaze of glory so I could roll a Circle of Spores Druid, but I wouldn’t be sad if my wizard died either.

That said, I think “Fey Wanderer” is my favorite of the new Beefcake colorways. It looks killer beside “Punk Princess” and “Lovegood.” If I didn’t already have too many projects on my needles, I’d be knitting a pair of fluffy slipper socks with “Fey Wanderer” and “Lovegood” right now.

HAVE A MERRY MINI CHRISTMAS

It has bothered Megan-Anne for a while that some of our Vacation Mini-Skein Sets were not replicable, so she cooked up six new sets that are.

Some of the colors she cooked up are so beautiful that we’re planning to put them on the standard 100 gram skeins of Vacation Yarn when refresh the base in the spring. We dyed a bunch of each skein set, and I already snagged the “Sea Salted Strumpet Syndicate” for an upcoming design.

Whew, that was a lot! In retrospect, it might have been smarter to update the shop as the yarn came out of the pots instead of in one big sweep, but oh well. One day we’ll get a hang of this whole yarn dying thing.

After learning the word “strumpet” in a high school English class many moons ago, Megan-Anne and I went through a phase where we used it constantly. Mom ended up banning it along with the word “Dude” after we overused it. She would walk around yelling, “banned!” It was hilarious. And then us kids banded together and named the family dog Dude! In retrospect, we were so rotten back then*, and I probably owe her an apology.

*We are still rotten. The only thing that changed was our ability to implement some quality long-game rottenness as adults.
