Starfire was in line to rule the planet of Tamaran as its queen until her sister, Blackfire, did a bunch of stuff that resulted in her enslavement and eventual need to flee to the nearest planet. It was bummer for her, but pretty great for Earth. She met Robin and joined him in forming the Teen Titans.
I don’t know much about Starfire outside of the Teen Titans cartoon. She has a limited grasp of Earth’s culture, which results in her misunderstanding and misusing idioms, and she has some neat abilities such as: flight; Starblasts; Starbolt eye-beams; a slew of the usual superhuman abilities like superhuman strength, agility, and endurance. But one of the greatest things about Starfire is her personality. She’s cheerful, sweet, and takes friendship very seriously. Before coming to Earth, she lived a hard life without any real friends, so she strives to be friends with everyone she meets and wants everyone to get along. She lifts weights with Cyborg and meditates with Raven.
She also was totally in love with Robin, not that I blame her. Dick Grayson is my number one. She harbored secret romantic feelings for him for a long time, and Robin felt the same way. The show played up their romantic tension all the way to the end until they finally confessed their feeling in the movie Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo.
