Indie Knit and Spin Show Report

Over the weekend, Megan-Anne and I packed up my sedan and headed over to Pittsburgh for Indie Knit and Spin. We actually just got back today, which is why this post is going up so late. It was our first time attending to peddle our squishy hand-dyed yarns, and we had a blast! The show was small, quirky, and full of cool like-minded people. It was a great way to kick off the show season and we’re excited to be heading back to it again in the fall.

We debuted new colorways for our Adventure and Escape Yarn lines, which won’t be available online until next week. But the coup de grâce was our limited edition Geek-A-Long Yarn colorway for March, Hyrule. I am currently obsessed with it. I spent an embarrassing amount of time staring at it, thinking about what I would make with it. Should I use it to finally get around to knitting Jessie’s Girl by Elizabeth Smith, which is a drapey pullover, or should I design a crochet top of my own? The possibilities are endless! And it was probably a good thing I didn’t have access to a ball winder or else I would’ve been zero help all weekend.

If you live in the Pittsburgh area and are bummed that you missed us, we’ll be back again at the end of March for PGH Knit & Crochet Festival. And if you’re in Maryland, we’ll be at the Homespun Yarn Party March 19th in the Great Room at Savage Mill in Savage, MD from noon to five PM. After you’re done marking your calendars, check out your week 10 Geek-A-Long spoiler below and head over to the Ravelry group to share your guesses!

The recommended colors for yesterday’s square, Black Widow, were Invisible Jet and Red Cape. You can snag the colors you’ll need for week ten, Invisible Jet and Skull Cave, for half off HERE until midnight tonight. As always, we will donate $1 to Child’s Play Charity every time you purchase a skein of Geek-A-Long Yarn, even if it’s on sale. It doesn’t matter if you plan to knit the week nine square with it or if you buy enough of the hand-dyed yarn to knit a cardigan, we’ll support Child’s Play Charity.

Lattes & Llamas was in turmoil on the way home when we realized next year is the GAL’s five year anniversary. Then, we stopped for lattes and accidentally spent the 6 hour drive home today planning next year’s wild and crazy party.
