I can’t believe the end of April is already here. Where did February and March go? I feel as if we were just announcing that Kelly Connor Designs had donated some fabulous project bags or were putting together the announcement regarding Cascade Yarn’s generous donation. Either way, another month has come and gone and it’s time to reveal another Geek-A-Long prize!
At least, I will after this quick reminder:
When you post a picture of your finished Geek-A-Long blanket to the Ravelry GAL group in any of the three sizes (baby blanket, afghan, or full-sized), you will be entered into the raffle for that sized blanket. However, everyone in the group is eligible to enter the drawing for the fourth prize basket as our thank you for just being a member. If you’re not a member, however, it isn’t too late to join and get in on the fun! You can find everything you’ll need to know about the Geek-A-Long on the FAQ page.
And now, back to your regularly scheduled prize announcement…
Inspinknity LLC was kind enough to donate 4 sets of premium super long blocking wires! Each set contains six 67″ wires with tip protectors and thirty nickel plated T-pins. The wires are made from an amazing flexible wire that will not rust, corrode, tarnish, or kink easily. It’s flexible enough to use for curved edges, yet strong enough to use for straight edges as well. The wires can be used over and over again without weakening from bending or staining your knitting!
These are the blocking wires that I use and I can’t imagine knitting life without them. I got my first set a year ago and haven’t looked back since. Gone are the days that I had to try to get some semblance of a straight edge with just T-pins, or had curves that weren’t quite symmetrical. I used these bad boys to block out Jac’s wedding shawl and the pinning process took less than half the time it would have without using them. Honestly, my only regret about buying them was that I didn’t get them two years sooner so I could block MY shawl with them. What really makes them spectacular is the flexibility. Most wires on the market are for circular work OR for straight edges, and with the Inspinknity wires one set covers both needs.
This is one of those prizes that I knew I wanted for the GAL from the start. I’m thrilled that Rachel, the lovely lady behind Inspinknity, agreed that they belong here! I feel really good about bringing you guys products that I’m willing to stake my name on, and I hope you’ll take my recommendation on these.
