I'm obsessed with this chart. Normally I'm a fickle knitter but I think the second I bind this off I'm going to start either a sweater or some socks in the same motife. Probably also some mitts. Maybe a cowl. I don't see a reason to ever wear anything else. 🐍♥️🐍

It's 10pm on valentine-eve and I'm equally obsessed with 2 things right now: 1) how entertaining I find the juxtaposition of my 🐍 hat and 🍎 snack. And 2) how concerned I am that the decreases made those snakes look like...something else 🤣 I think I need to frog back and make some adjustments.

I didn't finish in time for her birthday, but I showed Mabel the progress on her peridot hat and she's loving it! The construction is really fun. Starts with a crown and builds out from there. I might change the top of the hat though, to taper it more gently, but this has been a fun adventure in construction tinkering that I think would make the character it's based on proud.

It took all day to figure out exactly what I want to do and I'm slightly less confident tonight that I can make an unplanned gift by Thursday. On the other hand, Kevin got me an automatic latte maker and now espresso runs like water in my kitchen, and I'm pretty sure I'm 1 shot away from seeing the infinite and time has no hold on me.

I know it doesn't look like much right now, but I think this is going to be really neat when it comes together!

Hello, it's me, your friendly neighborhood llama. I haven't been around much, just needed a social media break. But I'm back now tonight because I'm either on the verge of knitting brilliance or some sort of dissociative fugue. Jury is out on that one. Because I am hyperfixating in what is either the best way, least productive way. I'm kind of excited to find out which 🤣

Photos 1-2: the sweater I intended to make Mabel for Yule, but, you know, didn't. Then it was gonna be a birthday present. Her birthday is in 3 days and I could *maybe* get it done if I abandoned every other responsibility, but she won't mind if it's late.

Buuuuut that brings us to photos 3-4. Mabel has loved Steven Universe since she was a baby. She goes through phases of watching it and just started a focused rewatch with the full enthusiasm of a nearly 8 year old fangirl. She is obsessed with Peridot. Tonight when I tucked her in, half asleep she tells me "I'm sad no one will mistake me for Peridot" and then snored.

Finally life has thrown me a parenting challenge I am uniquely qualified for. I left her room and whispered to my stash ✨we ride at dawn✨.

This is every peridot-y color I've got laying around. It is 11pm on Monday. Her birthday is Thursday. I have no idea what I'm going to make. Actually, I take that back, first I'll make coffee, and we'll just see where things go from there.

Did I finish Mabel's mice (the Christmas with the Mouse Family kit by @corinnefeltkits ) in time to get it under the tree? No. Do I get to pass it off as both a Yule and a Birthday gift now? Yes. My time management is a feature, not a bug.

This one was so much fun to make!! Would recommend.

I've been really quiet on here the last few months, but it's because I've been making an incredible secret project that you'll see next year for the Geek-A-Long! This year was @childsplaycharity 20th birthday and we couldn't let the occasion go by without something special!

We brought our masterpiece to Seattle last night for the birthday party auction. It was a wonderful party, and we were even treated to the ✨actual voice of GLADOS✨ before cake was served! Congratulations to the winner of the Natural 20th Anniversary Sweater and to all the GAL knitters seeing this, I can't wait to release the pattern to you for the 2024 GAL!
