Welcome to Week 1 of our 2-month sprint of pocket-monster glory! We are kicking off the festivities with Pokémon Blue. The Project Sheet and Pokéball Gauge Swatch released last week and if you missed them you can catch up here.
We’ll be releasing socks for Pokémon Blue, Red, Green and Yellow, and one of the hardest things about prepping for this round of our year of socks was deciding what order to release them in. When Pokémon first launched in Japan, it opened with Red and Green. So a purist would probably argue that they should come first, and while they wouldn’t be wrong, we’ve decided to defer to the wisdom of Nintendo on this one, and kick off with Red and Blue instead. Pokémon was incredibly popular in Japan, and the international launch came soon after. In a surprise move, they replaced Green with Blue when they launched in North America, and for most of the international market Red and Blue are the “original” Pokémon. Nintendo used the color swap to work out some of the bugs in the Japanese green game, and eventually released green worldwide.
If I’m being honest though, the decision was mostly made by Mabel the Merciless. When we showed her the green sock and blue sock, she declared that Squirtle is her favorite, and I can’t argue with logic like that.

You will have to come here and download the next clue every time. Please download it via Raverly if you are able, so you have immediate access to the clues as they are released and any errata that may appear.
