2021 Geek-A-Long: Weeks 9-10

I missed one Sunday of revamping Geek-A-Long squares to catch up on processing orders, and now it’s a month later. What the heck happened? I swear it was just Valentine’s Day!

Time really has lost all meaning.

Admittedly, part of the problem is that we’ve outgrown our current studio space. Our packing table has been overtaken by bins of inventory and we need to double the amount of pots we can run at once, but there’s no where to put the equipment. I dream about getting a bigger dye studio with a storefront so that you guys could swing by and hang out with us in person, but that takes a lot of upfront investment. We had been saving up for it, but we used it to keep the lights on back when we didn’t have any yarn left to sell during the early days of the pandemic. Oh well. I have hope we’ll get a storefront/bigger studio someday!

Over the next couple of days, I’m aiming to power through the squares I had planned to revamp for weeks 9-12 so that I’ll be back on schedule this time next week. Funnily enough, the next four squares on my list are all from animated sitcoms by Matt Groening!

“The characters on Futurama are amazing. They are multidimensional and interesting thanks to great character design and brilliant voice acting from some of the best in the business. Bender is voices by John DiMaggio, who also voices another favorite of mine, Jake the Dog on Adventure Time. The rest of the cast includes Billy West who voiced Ren and Stimpy, Katie Segal, who started on Married with Children and Sons of Anarchy, Rob Paulson, who voices Pinky on Pinky and the Brain and Toodles on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Other brilliant voice actors like Maurice LeMarsh and Phil Lamarr round out the cast. These actors bring life to the hundreds of side characters that make the universe of Futurama so fun. Giant ooze monsters, robot gangsters, and Globetrotters. It’s a fun universe and I love getting to visit it.”

You can read the original blog post about Professor Farnsworth by clicking this link and the one about Bender by clicking this link. Those posts also contain previews of the Geek-A-Long patterns and a download button like the ones below for you to snag the pattern for yourself.

If you missed my introduction post about my revamp efforts for the 2015 squares, the pattern includes both the original 59 row by 59 stich pattern as well as a new 57 row by 45 stitch square patterns for both double knitting and crochet. I’ll be back in a couple of days with a couple of revamped squares inspired by the Simpsons.
