We’re a small business, and rely on pattern sales. So, we are asking that people who can afford to purchase patterns at full price to continue supporting designers during this time. We are instituting a “choose your discount” policy through April 3rd so you can stock up on patterns to get you through the quarantine. Please choose the discount that best matches your financial situation. These codes are good for any pattern in our Ravelry Store, and there is no limit to how many times you wish to use it. It’s incredibly tedious to add this notification to every pattern, so please share the codes with your friends. This isn’t the kind of sale that we are trying to reserve just for folks that come to the blog. Right now, we want to make sure that every knitter has access to new patterns as we all cope with isolation.

We live in tumultuous times. For many, 2020 has been a year filled with fear. In recent months schools and businesses across the globe have been forced to close their doors to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Citizens have been asked to remain in their homes as much as possible, a practice called “social-distancing”. Despite understanding and supporting this measure, I have struggled with it the isolation. I’m luckier than most. I can do all of my work from home, and although my daughter and I are having difficulty adjusting to the new reality of being together 24/7, she’s safe and healthy. Still, now more than ever I see the need to take a break from worry, stress, homeschooling, and round the clock parenting to make time for self-care.

In that spirit I’m excited to release a new pattern that is perfectly suited to sparkling your way through the isolation. This stash buster won’t require a trip to the LYS (assuming there is even one open near you). In a time where many of us are focused on caring for others, take some time to care for yourself.

I have one last update: Jac and I met today and have decided that while the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause supply shortages we are going to halt yarn dying. Dying requires both gloves and face masks and hospitals need them more than we need new colors. At this time we just can’t justify purchasing more (and we’re almost out). If you’ve already placed an order, don’t worry, it will be filled as usual using the materials we already have on hand. We won’t be processing any new orders for back-ordered colors, but we have many colors currently dyed and in stock and those will remain available for purchase in the store. You can continue to shop as normal, we are simply setting the shop to only sell what is already made. We will resume dying again when masks are no longer in short supply.
