In my experience there are two types of Christmas celebrations: the over-the-top blown up yards Santas with an obscene amount of multi-colored lights brightening the night sky and the quiet single strand of soft white lights. These socks are the latter. They are quiet, subtle, and an homage to those of us that see Christmas as a time to reflect on the year – that would rather stay in with a few close friends, catching up over coco and cookies without the pomp and circumstance of big parties, extravagant gift exchanges, and bright, loud lights. These socks embody the feeling of calm before the tree is decorated, when it’s just a perfect evergreen bringing nature into the living room at a time of year when everything hibernates.
Inspired by the first snow of the season, the Twinkling Tree Socks evoke the cozy feeling of sitting by the fire and watching the snow drift lazily down with the serene thought of knowing you get to enjoy it from inside. Each sock has a tree motif done with simple cabling. Seed stitch is then carried down the foot of the sock all the way to the toe to represent the twinkling snow.
The cable tree instructions come with both a chart and the written directions. Pattern includes three sizes: 7(8, 9) inch foot circumference. Sample is shown in size 8 with Lattes & Llamas Vacation Yarn (100 grams/ 463 yards) in the ‘Rock Troll’ colorway.
To celebrate its release, please enjoy 20% off of this pattern until 12/20/18 at midnight EST, no coupon required!

And now, I’m off to watch a ‘White Christmas’ for the millionth time while I finish my Christmas knitting.
