Look, we could go into a whole long thing about Wolverine. He’s an amazing character with a rich backstory. But let’s be real, you can read the wiki if you want to. I’m here for Hugh Jackman. I’m pretty sure he secretly loves me. It seems logical anyhow, and should Kevin ever die tragically, he’ll be my next husband. Kevin and Hugh’s wife are ok with it, since we’ll wait an appropriate mourning period in the style of Gone With the Wind.
Ahem.
So before I go one word further let’s all just take a long drink of this:
Have you guys seen Logan? It’s so good. It’s definitely the most hardcore X-Men movie and certainly the only one that felt “real.” I cried at the theater and on the way home. I think about the ending of that movie a lot, but I’m going to leave it at that in case you haven’t seen it.
I love the escapism of X-Men. I spent an inordinate amount of my childhood imagining that Xavier had come to collect me and take me to his school for gifted youngsters. When the first movie came out and Logan took Rogue under his wing AND Logan just happened to be Hugh Jackman, I was in love and mildly obsessed. I got into reading Ultimate X-Men and watching X-Men: Evolution. It’s not a spoiler that there is a little-girl-Wolverine in Logan, but she actually made her first appearance in X-Men: Evolution, which you wouldn’t expect, since she is a dark character and that was a fairly light show.
I’ve told you to check out most of this stuff before and I think that if you are here in year 4 of the Geek-A-Long, chances are really good that I’m not introducing you to Wolverine. So sound off in the comment section and tell us who your favorite Wolverine is!

My favorite Wolverine is when he proved his identity to Cyclops by calling him a Dick. My second favorite Wolverine is when he pretended to be a teacher to Iceman’s parents and then a cat licked his claws. That’s some comedy gold.

My favorite Wolverine is in the comics (around the 1994 issue #30) during the wedding of Jean and Scott, because that’s the first time that I saw Wolverine as a character with depth instead of your stereotypical bad boy. For the first time I began to see what it was about Logan that made Scott jealous.
