Mother’s Day is less than a month away. Let’s face it: Mom expects you to knit her something. The knitter’s struggle is real. Resist the urge to make her another pair of fingerless gloves. She gave you life, don’t you think she deserves a shawl?
The Cashmere Garden Shawl was designed to be fun to make and easy to wear. It’s unique shape wraps intuitively around your neck and shoulders, and naturally drapes beautifully. Just toss the wider end over one shoulder and wind around your neck for an elegant, eye catching look whether you pair it with jeans or formal wear. Or, you know, if you’re the kind of mom I am, shawl and pajama bottoms. Life is too short to not wear a shawl, even if I’m too lazy for real pants.
To celebrate the pattern’s release, the Cashmere Garden Shawl pattern is available for only $0.99 on Ravelry until the end of today. You don’t even need a coupon code! Plus, our spring sale is still going on until midnight tonight, so you can get the yarn required to knit the shawl on sale as well.
The stitch pattern is deceptively simple, and the shawl is split between relaxing garter ridges, and fun, engaging textured lace. The combination of yarn overs and decreases creates a panel of tiny blossoms running up the shawl, and the edge is accented with delicate eyelets.
I designed this shawl with mother’s day in mind, and the sample is knit with a single skein of Lattes & Llamas Interlude yarn. The luxurious blend of Cashmere, Silk, and BFL creates a perfect medium for a delicate, textured wrap.
