AKA Gilmore Girls Awareness Month
It’s no secret that I love coffee.
And also Llamas.
What you may not realize, is that as good as a llama drinking coffee is, he’d be even better in a hat.
And, obviously, if I have a hat-wearing-coffee-drinking llama I will watch Gilmore Girls with him.
There are 41 knitting days left until Christmas and it’s time to get real about quick projects that can actually get done. So for this month’s KAL, I declare it Hatvember! Let’s band together and make some quick, 1 skein presents while we wait with ever growing impatience for Gilmore Girls Thanksgiving. cough Yep. Totally meant Thanksgiving. cough This month we’re casting on the Rikke Hat by Sarah Young.
It is fun, fast, and stylish. The pattern calls for DK, but I’m going to use Interlude (fingering) and hold it double. To celebrate that it’s nearly Gilmore O’Clock I decided on the color Stars Hollow. I think it’ll show off the hat’s texture really nicely.

Speaking of GG and knitting we’d like to formally invite you to a mini knit-a-long/crochet-a-long next Friday while we all tune in to see if she is with Dean, Jess, or Logan. We’ll be posting all the details later this week, but we will have 2 free patterns, one knit and one crochet, that we can all work on together while we watch.
I’ve got a thread set up for our Hatvember Knits over on the Lattes and Llamas Ravelry Group. Drop in and show off pics of your hat in progress. Happy Knitting!

I wish I had a mug with Luke’s Diner logo on it. I’ve seen them, but now I can’t find one. Link me to it if you know where the mugs live.
