2016 Geek-A-Long: Little Big Planet

Nuttyknitter nominated Little Big Planet to the blanket, and I would have if she hadn’t.

One of my favorites is Little Big Planet, just because like the characters are KNITTED! I even knitted a Sack-boy for DNS.

When it was first being advertised in 2008ish my video game budget was SUPER tight. Well, my everything budget was tight, but to get a new game was a major splurge. I was so hyped for this game. Maybe over hyped, but I got really fixated on the game before it was even out. In some ways, I’m surprised it even held up to my expectations, because I had put it on such a pedestal. But the idea of a world-building video game was so novel to me, and Playstation was pushing it hard. It did hold up though. I used to make sack-boy music videos in all my spare time. I don’t know that I used it as a game so much as my own little virtual Barbie dolls, but I had fun and that’s what matters.

I could talk more about the game, but this one is about making, so instead, please enjoy this list of Little Big Planet inspired patterns.

Okay, so I totally hadn’t thought of Little Big Planet for a square, even though I’ve played it and made ooh and aah comments about Sackboy being knitted. Perhaps this is because LBP is a platformer and I am HORRIBLE at platformers…
