Once Upon a Knit

If you only buy one pattern book this month, make it Once Upon a Knit by Genevieve Miller.  If you buy 2 books this month, buy this one twice.

I had the supreme pleasure of speaking with Genevieve Miller about her new book Once Upon A Knit last week. You can find the interview here.  This week I want to follow up with a review of the book itself.

Once Upon A Knit promises “grimm and glamorous” patterns and it certainly delivers!  From a precious girl’s tutu and wand combo to intricately cabled socks to a strikingly handsome men’s sweater, this book has something for everyone.  Once again, Genevieve teamed up with a star-studded cast of designers including Toni Carr (you probably know her as Joan of Dark) and Cirilia Rose (who designed the cover piece for Genevieve’s last book, Vampire Knits.

Once Upon A Knit features projects that are broken into 3 categories: Into the Woods; Princes & Princesses; and Something Wicked.  It’s no huge surprise that my favorite pattern was “Jack and the Beansocks”. I am a sucker for a great pair of socks and I can’t wait to start them!  There are some beautiful color-work patterns and a wide range of ability levels so no matter where you are in your knitting journey, you’ll be able to find something that’s just screaming to be cast on.  I expect this one will fly off shelves, so get your copy now!
