2017 Geek-A-Long: Black Widow

I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Black Widow. I didn’t really have much experience with her before the Avengers movies, but since my introduction to her awesomeness, I’ve been hooked.

Black Widow has been everything a superhero could be. Hero, villain, clone, blond. She began as a soviet spy and eventually became one of the main Avengers. The only thing she hasn’t been is star of her own movie which is redonkulous.

My favorite Black Widow story is Secret Avengers 20. The Secret Avengers get taken out and Black Widow is the in one left standing. She grabs a time machine and has to go back in time and find a way to save everyone while preventing anyone from finding out what she has done. This should be the movie. Besides, I would pay to watch any movie with Scarlett Johansson kicking people in the face for an hour and a half. Maybe not if she pretends to be Japanese, but that’s a whole other issue.

Whether you’re knitting, crocheting, or cross stitching this square, you can download the Black Widow pattern here. Instructions and charts for both knit and crochet are listed in the pattern. When you’re finished making it, don’t forget to Instagram your squares at us @lattesandllamasyarn with the hashtag #geekalong!

If you’re having trouble with double-sided knitting, we have a how-to video here and a tutorial on crochet here. Want to hang out with other people making the blanket? You can find moral support in the Geek-A-Long group on Ravelry here.
