April flowers bring May showers. That’s how it goes, right?

I love my sister.

I feel I need to say that here since at home I tell Jac how much I hate her about once a day at this point.  Her wedding shawl is underway and being knitted with the same yarn I used for mine, but in deep, forest green. You can see my magnificent red shawl here. I’m pretty nervous about whether or not my math will work out, and I’m distracted with how tough school has been this semester.  Keeping up with a 50 hour a week job, and my post bacc, and my knitting while maintaining some semblance of humanity is tough enough.  And then she added another project.

Did I mention I love her?

In all seriousness though, I think her idea to have a knitted bouquet is absolutely brilliant.  I only wish I had thought of it for my wedding.  I designed them after peonies and I’m doing them in shades of purple and pink with orange centers.  Each bloom has a crystal sewn into the center to give it a little bling.

Some of the photos are a little washed out and overexposed, but you get the idea. Here’s an assembly shot.

UPDATE: You can view the gorgeous final photos of my handiwork here and purchase the Perfectly Preserved Peonies knitting pattern on Ravelry now. I can’t resist sharing one of the pics here.
